Your local guide to The Pink City
Welcome to My Jaipur Guide: The Pink City Through My Eyes
Jaipur, the Pink City, holds a special place in my heart. As the founder of Haveli Diaries, a block-printed homeware and lifestyle brand, I travel to Jaipur regularly—not just to source textiles, but to immerse myself in its rich heritage and thriving artisan community. This city isn’t just where I work; it’s where my creativity finds its roots. Let me take you through Jaipur as I experience it, from its architectural marvels to its bustling bazaars.

STAY: A Heritage Haven
To truly soak in Jaipur’s regal charm, staying at a Haveli is a must. Some of my favorites include The Johri, Samode Haveli, and Narain Niwas Palace Hotel. These heritage hotels transport you back in time, with frescoed walls, grand courtyards, and old-world elegance. Waking up to the soft sounds of the city in these historic spaces is nothing short of magical and often sparks inspiration for my designs.
EAT: A Culinary Journey Through Jaipur
Jaipur’s food scene is as vibrant as its culture. For an authentic Rajasthani feast, I always recommend the thali at 1135 AD in Amber Fort—each dish is a tribute to the region’s royal culinary traditions. When I need a quiet escape after a day of sourcing textiles, Bar Palladio is my go-to. Its cobalt blue interiors are as dreamy as its cocktails. For rooftop views and relaxed dining, The Peacock Restaurant is perfect, offering a blend of Indian and international flavors with a breathtaking cityscape as your backdrop.

VISIT: Step Into Jaipur’s Past
When I’m not hunting for fabrics, I find inspiration in Jaipur’s iconic landmarks. Amber Fort, with its mirror-worked halls and intricate frescoes, is always a must-visit. The City Palace, home to royal costumes and textiles, feels like a living mood board for my brand. And no trip is complete without marveling at the Hawa Mahal—its honeycomb facade is a masterpiece of Rajput architecture.

SHOP: A Treasure Trove for Textile Lovers
For those who share my love for textiles, Jaipur is a dream. Bapu Bazaar is my favorite hunting ground, overflowing with vintage saris, hand-stitched quilts, and exquisite block-printed fabrics. Johari Bazaar IS also fantastic for finding traditional Rajasthani JEWELLERY, brassware, and handicrafts.

GETTING AROUND: The Rickshaw Experience
The best way to navigate Jaipur? Rickshaws! There’s something exhilarating about weaving through the city’s bustling streets in a tuk-tuk, listening to drivers share stories and local secrets. Just hold on tight—seatbelts aren’t part of the experience!
One of the greatest privileges of running Haveli Diaries is working closely with Jaipur’s artisans. Many studios welcome visitors, offering a glimpse into the world of block printing, pottery, and jewelry making. Watching these skilled craftsmen at work is both humbling and inspiring—every piece they create carries centuries of tradition.
For me, Jaipur isn’t just a destination—it’s a muse, a collaborator, and a second home. Whether you’re drawn to its grand palaces, vibrant markets, or artisan workshops, this city will leave you enchanted. So, pack light, embrace the chaos, and let Jaipur weave its magic on you.
